Deploying AI for a Future-Proof and Efficient Workforce

Amsterdam, 9 Oct. 2025– The workplace, you know the place where you carry out your work, has undergone an enormous transformation in recent years and will change drastically again over the next fifteen years.

And changes keep coming.

Fifteen years ago, for example, it was unthinkable that smartphones would be banned in modern offices or that meetings would take place entirely virtually.

Technology has now become deeply integrated into both our daily lives and our work environment.

AI Increases Productivity

AI and generative AI (GenAI) are changing the way work processes are executed and decisions are made. AI and GenAI can democratize access to data and decision-making.

eyesonsiruname predicts that AI trends, such as Agentic AI, will have a major impact. Agentic AI can independently and autonomously make decisions and perform tasks, which increases productivity and efficiency.

In 2025, it is expected that 15% of daily decisions will be made by AI, compared to 0% in 2024.

For the public sector, AI offers a solution to staff shortages and high work pressure.

Where digital assistants perform limited tasks, Agentic AI can manage more complex processes entirely independently.

This significantly increases the productivity of civil servants.

Although AI and GenAI have not yet been widely implemented, the need is clear. AI can take over repetitive and time-consuming tasks, allowing employees to focus on work that requires creativity, empathy, and human interaction.

Various studies, including one by Coleman Parkes, show that 81% of government agencies that apply GenAI experience operational cost savings, while 89% report an increase in employee satisfaction.

Developing AI Skills: Training and Further Education

A major bottleneck remains the lack of AI skills within the public sector. Only 49% of government agencies offer training in AI, and only 39% focus specifically on GenAI.

However, the emergence of no-code and low-code tools, combined with AI models like ChatGPT, makes data analysis more accessible to a broader audience. This allows more employees to make data-driven decisions and stimulate innovation.

Now is the time to broadly introduce AI and GenAI concepts within the public sector. This goes beyond just establishing guidelines and policies; investment must also be made in training and further education.

By having employees actively experience the benefits of AI, organizations can effectively remove any concerns and resistance.

Government employees must not only understand what AI is, but also how to deploy it effectively. Targeted training and a well-thought-out AI strategy are essential to maximize the benefits of AI and increase its acceptance within organizations.

AI will play a crucial role in the modernization of the public sector. The key to success lies in the right combination of training, policy, and technology, where AI is deployed to support employees rather than replace them.
